Marivento
Ochre façade of the historic villa with green shutters and bougainvillea

Our story

Marivento began as the summer house of the Esposito family in 1782. Three generations later, it is a 24-room hotel that still feels like a family home on the cliff.

  1. 1782

    A villa above the sea

A lemon merchant builds a pale ochre villa on the cliff, with terraces cut into the rock for his groves.

  2. 1954

    Open doors

Nonna Rosa begins welcoming travellers who arrive by boat, cooking for them from the garden.

  3. 2019

    A careful restoration

Her grandchildren spend four years restoring the frescoes, majolica floors and the grotto beneath the house.

  4. Today

    Twenty-four rooms

A small hotel with a terrace restaurant, a spa in the rock and a boat waiting at the jetty.

The restoration

When we restored the villa, we kept the original majolica floors, cleaned the 18th-century frescoes by hand and rebuilt the lemon terraces stone by stone.

Made on the coast

Local hands in every room.

Ceramics come from a family workshop in Vietri sul Mare, linens are woven in Campania, and our lemons, tomatoes and herbs grow on the terraces below your window.
